VJ Craft

Based in New York City, Firefly Lab is a unique visual experience specializing in the art and craft of VJing. Passionate and knowledgeable, we create and perform live visuals that transform every event into an instinctive and cosmic experience.  We believe live visuals can unearth moods and ambiance that are hidden from us in everyday life.  

New York City is our Playground

We are some of New York City’s hardest-working VJs and video artists and are part of a close-knit family of local artistic communities. We have performed at a wide range of events in and out of NYC since 2001 — from warehouse parties and dance clubs to music festivals and arenas — we perform anywhere the visuals take us. Anywhere, Everywhere

Internationally, we have performed at numerous festivals and events in Russia, Spain, Canada, Australia, and Germany. We collaborate closely with fellow artists, musicians, and collectives around the world.

With close ties to NYC’s Blue Man Group, our visuals and video art have traveled worldwide in high-profile settings with the Megastar Tour, DJ Tiesto’s Elements of Life Tour, on the Today Show with Jay Leno, and Jon Stewart from the Daily Show. We have produced various video art pieces, music videos, as well as a 40-minute PBS Special Creating Blue Man Group in 2009.

In 2008 we completed a summer residency at Experimental Television Center working with Nam June Paik’s “Wobulator” and were recently awarded a residency with Andes Sprouts Society for our proposal on Shadow Experiments in 2009. Our work has been published on Forward Motion Theater’s EyeWash 3 DVD. We are the writers of Respect Your VJ, a guiding text for those who want to work with VJs. The text has been recognized in various publications in print and online.

Visual Soul

We have collaborated with some of the finest musicians, DJs, dancers, designers, event planners, other visual artists, and everyday people looking to create a beautiful time.  From basements to penthouses, deserts and forests–our images are our music, time is our canvas—we call our visuals Visual Soul.
