Blue Man Group North American Tour Update

Dec
1

The North American Tour is well on its way! Currently in Denver Colorado and well on its way touring nearly 40 cities until mid June 2011, here are what some reviews are saying specifically about the visuals:

“The finale actually produced euphoria. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but the entire audience was joyfully compelled into active participation….The video and lighting design is on the level of a major rock tour – but it’s used for more pointed purposes. A lot of it is satirircal, aimed (at least in this version of the show) mostly at contemporary electronic gadgetry. There’s a long bit poking fun at the iPad, for instance. Other targets include multitasking, texting and the standardized behavior of audiences at rock concerts.”
-The Dallas Morning News

“Funny, intelligent and visually stunning.”
-Broadway World

“Kids will enjoy the slapstick and high-tech visuals.”

-istopover Magazine

“Nothing short of a big party….Everything about this performance was designed to engage as many of the senses as possible.”
-I Live in Dallas

“Blue Man Group brings comedy, multimedia, lighting effects, and interactive elements together to form an original theatrical experience that is unlike anything you’ve seen before. Because the show mostly employs visuals, music, and action (rather than words), it is great for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.”

North American Tour-Tech Update

Greetings from Arkansas, where we are 3 weeks deep into tech for Blue Man Group’s Bluephoria Tour. Zarah has been deeply involved in conceptualizing, creating, and designing this show’s video design, where the Blue Men are immersed in an alternate reality of 2.5 dimensions that weave in and out of psychedelic textures, explorations of vision, and the inner workings of “GiPhones.”  Below are stills of Zarah’s video designs on the Zygote Finale, the brand new ecstatic closing piece to premiere on this tour.

North American Tour

2010 has Blue Man Group deeply involved in the creation of Bluephoria, Blue Man Group’s North American Tour, due to begin touring in the Fall of this year.  The show features a “new physical design that centers around a proscenium-sized LED curtain and high-resolution screen to create an entirely new visual experience for Broadway houses across the nation.”

Zarah is deeply involved with the video team headed by Caryl Glaab, designing, conceptualizing, and creation of new video designs and content, for a unique experience.  In essence, the entire show is getting a whole new look.  Everything is top secret now, but stills and videos to come very soon!!!

Rock and Go

“Rock and Go” was a new song customized with its own set of new visuals that was created for the Blue Man Group How To Be A Megastar Tour in 2007.  The tour traveled throughout Europe, USA, South America, and Asia.  Rock and Go was also performed at various other gigs.  The video below is Rock and Go performed by Blue Man Group at The Jay Leno Show in 2007.  The customized visuals were created by Zarah Cabañas, with additional content created by Thomas Williams.  Enjoy!
